Apparently, judges have been sending kids to detention centers in exchange for kickbacks.
This pisses me off bad. How completely morally bankrupt do you have to be to send kids to fucking detention centers and bootcamps just to make some money? I have a hard time believing that this is the only sick thing that people like that would do. I mean, how do you stop there? How many extra more or less fucked up shit could you do in a position of power like that? Shit, with an ever more privatized prison system, who's to say that judges don't do this with other people. Maybe this helps explain why the US has the largest prisoner population in the world.
It's not just the judges. Once you get put in jail, the sheriff will turn you empty stomach into his own personal cash cow.
Fuck the system and fuck the judges that profit off a teenager's childhood.

That's the way the system works, they should of thought of that BEFORE they comitted crimes. I'm tired of hearing criminals get treated better than we do out here, this is a change for the BETTER.
Yeah, I hear about that all the time. Criminals being treated better than people on the outside. Like, every day practically.
I guess this dude is talking about the sheriff's taking money from the prisoner's food money? Not the kids right?
Anyway, if you honestly think that prisoners should be fed for less than $1.25, at least argue for rebudgeting. Doesn't need to go into the sheriff's pocket.
man, what a myth! the only folks who have it worse than inmates are the homeless. all the time we hear crap at my office like "blah blah, they're working out in the weight room and watching MTV" and good god can we get a grip??
also, a for-profit criminal justice system is just a shame.
