Tomorrow kicks off the summer (read: half-spring and half-summer) movie season. I'll be back with guesses on the other big flicks of the season and beyond.
Iron Man 2: $453 million
If a crappy sequel to a crappy original can bank $400 million, surely a good sequel to a good original can improve on it. Robert Downey and Jon Favreau could, by a hair's breadth, make the comic adaptation the last #1 movie of the year in 2D.

i guess the bigger question is how is sex & the city 2 going to do? the original was really pandering for laughs (ex: montezuma's revenge was an entire subplot), and i feel like this dubai adventure could be worse (have you seen the trailer???) than that.
yowie wowee, SATC2 looks awful. i saw the trailer last night at the gym--on MUTE--and it still grated my nerves.
also the reappearance of Aidan, aka "symbol of unrealistic man all us sad single women can pin our hopes to" could not be a more obvious cash-grab by the producers.
yet I might see it anyway? take some airplane bottles to the dollar theater? later this summer? anyone?
it's funny aidan (sp?) is coming back because i read quotes from the actor and he said he wasn't in it. guess he didn't read the script too carefully. that being said, aiden (sp?) was my favorite of her boyfriends.
important topic that needs to be discussed: when did SATC jump the shark? and become a parody of itself? and why are girls (ok, like lindsay lohan) still saying that SATC is their favorite show???
