Raleigh is the best place to live in America!!!! Who knew????
The article states that Raleigh's housing market is growing faster than all other major markets except Las Vegas. Our proportion of young adults ranks third to Austin and D.C. So why don't we have things like SXSW and the Smithsonian? There's always this.

ummm, yeah.
The Lassiter at North Hills: Pros and Cons.
Pros:
The land is already developed/TLaNH doesn't contribute to sprawl
There is a Bruegger's
It is close to my parents' houses/convenient
Cons:
it makes me feel physically ill to watch TLaNH try to be a downtown-like "center" where things like "music festivals" and, even worse, a "farmers' market" could legitimately fit in
I hate beach music
I hate that little "lawn" or maybe they call it a "commons" where people bring their overdressed toddlers/dogs to play as though it were a legit city center
they have a brueggers??
in theory i like the new work/eat/play/live developments. they are great for reusing land and cutting down on everyone's carbon footprint...but why do they have to be such eyesores? everything screams "new architecture trying to be old-ish!". i guess they can't let the stores just open naturally because then the space wouldn't develop as fast and it's easier to have the unit and businesses can move in...but still! does everything have to be so homogenized with a "funky" facade to differentiate businesses?
and the families! they are so stepford with their kids grooving to beach music.
that said - having a target close is nice.
