Not to detract from Haiti relief, but I gotta talk about Twitter.

Let me level with you folks. I joined Twitter maybe a week ago and it's been rough going. That stuff is great for making fun of celebrities and being the "first" to know about viral videos, but as far as real-people go, it's horrible. Probably because none (1% ?) of the real people in my life are on it, so it's nowhere near as compelling/entertaining/wtf-ing as facebook. So this is me saying: are you on Twitter? Should I even bother?

The reason I think I should bother is because it's a big deal in my department. Twitter this, crowdsourcing that...honestly people, I think it's here to stay. If not in this version, then the next, but it's coming for us. If you're a heretofore anonymous reader and you follow me, I won't reveal your identity. And it won't be weird! Twitter isn't weird, right?!???

So what do you say? Surf into the future on the Twitter wave with me?

Hey guys, remember this?

My flickr page lets me see what people have been viewing (but not who they are--don't worry!--even though i want to know that too) and somebody watched this yesterday. Which made me want to watch it! And it is really sweet. Watch in full-screen for maximum effect.

Merry Christmas

Christmas movies are vast and varied. You've got comedies, sentimentals, "quirky", romantic...and the list is endless. My favorite is White Christmas. Yes, it's true! I was born 65. The AMC marathon today is a Christmas miracle. I keep catching random scenes and can quote them. I've still got it! My sister and I used to act out the Sisters number. We probably still would with enough eggnog.

It's Jimmy Robbins!

This kid, the little brother of my bff from childhood Gray Robbins, has just released an album on Universal Motown. It's sort of blowing my mind! And his myspace page is outta control too. Just the sheer number of his fans is enough to make me wish I'd tried harder to make Liza date him. So take it from me, JOP readers: Jimmy Robbins is going to be the next big thing. You heard it here first!

*~*~*~* CRUSH @lert *~*~*~*

Too many crushes lately!! This one couldn't go undocumented when I found out that Neil Patrick Harris is going to be a guest judge on American Idol next year! As if I didn't love him enough already!! Confession: I watch How I Met Your Mother and I like it. It can be a little cheesy at times, but overall the show is fun to watch. More fun than Friends' reruns or any other sitcom on these days. The gimmick about who the mother will be keeps me interested, but it's Neil Patrick Harris' character of Barney that keeps me tuning in.

He hosted the Tony Awards this year, which I didn't see but heard was hilarious. I'll bet! So I'm excited to see him host the Emmys. You need a good host at these things or else they really do feel like 4 hours. I don't want to brag, but Neil Patrick and I are practically related. We sat in the same room together. Yes, it's true! Senior year of college I was in New York and my friends and I were having brunch and in walked Neil Patrick Harris. HE SAT NEXT TO US. AND ORDERED A STRAWBERRY WAFFLE. I was caddy corner to his seat so I was trying not to make eye contact, but that's almost impossible. Especially since he was with what looked like his boyfriend at the time and he hadn't come out yet. Also, since it was 2006 I'm not sure if How I Met Your Mother was on, but I hadn't seen the show yet. I'll remember that brunch 4eva.
