"we've all worn confederate flags to school before"

This girl tried to wear a confederate flag dress to prom, and it isn't even pretty. I could understand her situation maybe a little better if the dress was really lovely and expensive and made her look like a wonderful princess, but (and I'm sorry, Jacqueline) it looks awful. PLUS it's a confederate flag, which is an automatic fail. Anyway here's the article: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42046

this prom story also just caught my eye -

this miss town had been holding segregated proms until this year when morgan freeman paid for everyone to attend the same event.

also - in the world of weird prom dresses...remember those contests to make "dresses" out of duct tape??

the link is broken! but that's awful. what in the hell is wrong with the south??

also, yes, and every now and then my dad likes to send out an email forward about "ghetto" prom dresses and hairstyles. he loves that stuff.

ALSO, i need to say that i'm not making fun of Jackie. i hate to imagine how i'd feel if i were "surfing the web" one day and found my picture and the quote i gave the AP on some blog page that's all about how silly my dress is. i'm not making fun of Jackie, or Dutys, or anything except her silly, unattractive dress. just in case she ever reads this.

first things first, I am from the south and there aint nothing wrong with us. If she wants to rep her heritage then let her. It is not for anyone to judge but her. and the dress was pretty. It's because of people like you that racist comments get thrown around. Just bc someone wears one doesnt mean they are racist. I wear confederate shirts all the time but that doesnt mean i am racist. So we are proud of our heritage, you would defend yours to right?
